We all want soft and supple skin – like a baby’s – as it is a marker of youth. Thus, there’s a reason why baby skin is highly coined in beauty advertising. To help you achieve baby soft skin, or as close as you can get, here are 5 simple tips to follow.
#1 Clean your skin daily
A soap free facial wash is a great and simple way to clean your skin. Also, a facial cleanser that is not formulated with harmful chemicals is another great tool for ridding your face of grime and daily build-up from the environment. Use a soft sponge in order to avoid irritating your skin and causing damage as you wash.
It’s important not to wash your face too often, however, because you will be stripping your face of the ever so important natural oils.
Find a moisturizer that works with your skin. Be selective and be open to changing the product(s) you use. As your facial complexion changes, so will your moisturizer of choice. The best time to apply moisturizer is after you’ve stepped out of the shower. The moisturizing product will settle into your skin while your pores are open from the shower’s steam, and help keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
#3 Use sunblock
Before leaving your house – use sunblock! Even if the sun is not blazing down on you, you can still be affected by damaging UV rays that can wreak havoc on your skin. Covering up and wearing a hat is another great way to block out UV rays – next to using sunblock. Thus, try and find hats and clothing that are UV rated for the best protection.
This is another reason why baby skin is so soft – their skin has yet to be exposed to damaging UV rays.
Use a gentle, yet effective, exfoliant with your skin in order to remove dead skin cells – allowing new skin cells to generate. When dead skin cells pile onto your face, the skin begins to look dull, rough, and dry. And even more damaging: the build-up of dead skin cells can lead to excess oil and clogged pores, which are a breeding ground for acne and blemishes.
#5 Before bed routine
Be sure to remove any make-up you have on before you go to bed in order to ensure that your skin can properly breathe. Also, use a gentle facial cleanser to remove any dirt and grime that may be built-up on your face during the day. This will further ensure that your skin can breathe well and is clean from harmful chemicals that will slowly damage your skin overnight.
Over to you!
You too can have soft baby-like skin if you add a few more steps into your daily skincare routine. However, the key is to stick with these steps and be consistent! The results will come over time.
